Endemic to Jamaica. Inhabits shallow sany bottom fresh water streams areas of soft silt. Hides among submerged and floating aquatic vegetation. Feeds on damselfly and dragonfly nymphs, other aquatic larvae, ostracods, copepods and snails. Eggs hatch in about 9 days.
Endemic to Jamaica. Primarily found in freshwater, but can also live in brackish water. Habitates mudy, sandy or gravelly bottoms and may live within mangroves and seagrass.
