In the quiet Clarendon village of Wataside, the Peace River flows silent and heavy.

But when twelve-year-old Zion pulls a smooth black stone from the riverbed, the debt comes due.

A supernatural rot begins to consume the valley. The air grows heavy, secrets refuse to stay buried, and the river begins to rise. While the village Pastor whips his congregation into a frenzy to unearth the "blessings" buried beneath the church, Zion realizes the terrifying truth.
